How to Write an School & University Assignment

No matter when the assignment is due, it is important to begin the assignment immediately.  That way, if you have any questions regarding the instructions, the questions, the formatting, etc. you can ask the teacher or a friend, relative, etc. for help before the assignment is due.  If you wait until the last moment to start the assignment and complete the assignment, then you leave no room for yourself to get help if you need help. 

Formatting
When doing a writing assignment, you want to make sure that you understand how the teacher wants you to format the assignment.  There are several kinds of formatting guidelines available to use.  Two of the most popular are MLA (Modern Language Association), APA (American Psychological Association).  These formatting guidelines tells you how to do the title page, format the header and footer, how to quote someone else in your work, and how to properly give credit to that person you quoted as well.  The APA formatting is generally used for science and science related assignment. The MLA is generally used for English and language related assignments.  The Chicago Manual of Style is generally used in the humanities and social sciences.  Make sure you follow the guideline your teacher assigns completely.  A well answered assignment can lose points if it’s not formatted properly. 

Spelling, punctuation & grammar
